Mike Thalken

 

 

I was born and raised in a small town in Western Nebraska.  I recieved my bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK).  While at UNK I was a Student Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach and helped with football, soccer, track and field, swimming, volleyball, softball and basketball.  I also worked as strength and conditioning coach at Stick 2 Fitness, a personal training and sports performance gym, for 4 years under Corby Stickelman.  After college I moved to Arizona for an intership with the Center for Athletic Performance and Physical Therapy.  After completing my internship I worked for a sports performance gym for a year and a half where I worked with golfers of all ages, youth and professional athletes, and the general public in personal training. 

In college I competed in the shot put and hammer throw in track and field. I am currently training to make the USA Track and Field Team as a professional athlete.

Rhino STAC (Strength and Conditioning) is focused on personalized training programs for the individual already committed to, or ready to commit to, a healthy lifestyle and high school or collegiate athletes ready to step up their performance. My workouts and exercises are focused on evidence-based research from biomechanics and exercise physiology and how to best create healthy, strong, and stable joints while going through everyday movements. Programs also include nutritional advice, at-home programming, and lifestyle coaching.I offer one hour training sessions (one and a half for sports performance) that include personal training, sports performance training, youth sports performance training, semi-private training, and group classes.
